Learn what mindfulness is and isn't. Discussion on how we can be more mindful in our daily lives. Mindfulness is not just seated meditation but can be incorporated into everyday activities.
Understand how our posture and our breath can impact our mood. Learn various breathing tools for daily life to help regulate our nervous system, and nudge ourselves away from stress and towards calm.
Understanding how to notice and let go of our thoughts without judgement; how to move mindfully; to become more comfortable with being rather than doing; and be-friending our mind. Begin to notice that we are separate from our thoughts and learn how to use that space to allow us to make more intentional choices.
What are emotions? Where do they occur in our body. Understand how to notice and release emotions with kindness. Learn how to alter the story we tell ourselves about events in our lives, so we reduce our suffering. Discover how to reduce striving and progress towards kind acceptance and action. Become more aware of the glimmers, to increase moments of joy, peace and awe in our everyday lives.
Learn how to nurture resilience and foster empathy and compassion for ourselves and for others. Begin to understand the link between stress and kindness and about how our mindset can affect our perception of events. We'll consider the difference between acceptance and resignation as you start to feel more content with what you have rather than having what you want.

This is a beginners course, designed for those new to the practice of mindfulness and meditation.
If you're dealing with a moderate/severe mental health concern please seek appropriate help as this course is not a substitute for medical advice, counselling or therapy. Anyone currently seeing a mental health professional should consult with them prior to booking a place on this course, and also discuss this with the course leader.
However, if you're essentially doing fine, but are feeling somewhat frazzled, over-whelmed, stressed, or simply that you'd like to move out of autopilot and start getting more out of life - this course could be for you!
